The Puligny-Montrachet premier cru “Les Combettes” from Domaine Jacques Prieur is an extraordinarily aromatic, fresh and lively white wine made from exclusively Chardonnay grapes planted on a 1.5-hectare plot. The vines, planted in the appellation of Puligny-Montrachet, enjoy southeast exposure on a hill overlooking the appellation’s namesake village. The vineyard’s soil is composed of clay-limestone with a high volume of stones. Grapes are selected by hand and the wine aged in oak barrels for 19 months. This classic wine displays a luminous golden green color with bright silver reflections. On the nose, one may detect charming notes of dried fruits, along with citrus, flint stone and mint. On the palate there is fantastic energy and tension, featuring saline notes and fragrant flavours of flowers, mostly violet. The finish is crisp and mouthwatering fresh.
